The Staff of the Thaumaturge is a multi-layered project that responds to a range of issues. Its most direct inspiration is Lonny Holly’s Staff of Moses, and the movie, the Prince of Egypt. The staff is intended to be the tool of a modern day miracle worker. Further inspired by Arthur C. Clarke’s quotation that, “any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic,” the staff is filled with modern technologies, which allow its wielder to survive difficult situations and to help those in need.
